Grain Weevil

Characteristics: 3-4mm, clubbed antenna , dimpled thorax, dark brown

Eggs: up to 350 per female at a rate of 1-2 per day over a nine month period

Larvae: legless grubs living totally within cereal grains, develop three weeks to three months

Pupae: Adults bite hole to emerge, leaving grain as empty husk

Adults: Incapable of flight, live on more than a year
