Posing similar problems to the feral pigeon e.g. nesting on roofs and the accumulation of their fouling causing structural damage. Gulls being considerably larger than pigeons may also peck at roofs which, in adverse weather conditions, could escalate a problem. Becoming more common in urban areas, the herring gull is still less common than the pigeon.
